Logo & art contest
Community is at the very core of the Poppy Field Co-op, so that's where we're starting. We want to open source our promotional graphics, and what better way to do that, than a contest. The winner will also be chosen by the community via a poll (once entries have closed). Are you a Sunny Coast artist? Passionate about social and/or environmental change? Check out what we need from you below!
Things to Remember (In all designs)
- Consistent and Fitting Colour Scheme: We want to try minimise our resource consumption by limiting the amount of colours in our promotional material. Less colour = less dye, and every bit matters. However, prioritise your ideas, we can always discuss changes later.
- Dynamic Design: All designs should be able to be edited for various applications. All elements (borders, objects, text) should be isolated so its easy to make slight adjustments.
- Charity Name: The logos should accommodate "The Poppy Fields" & "Poppy Field Co-op" & any other versions you can think up!
- Slogan: This is optional, but if you're motivated to, try including our slogan, "A walk in the Poppy Fields will do wonders for the soul, and the world."

what to submit?
Flagship Logo
The first thing you'll need to include is the logo you think would be best as our primary brand image. Preferably this design should be your best and most polished work. This logo will appear on our website, social media, promotional material and merchandise.
Things to Remember
- The flagship logo should act as the role model for all your other designs.
- Keep a consistent and relevant colour scheme
- Portray the Poppy Field Co-op's goals/actions (Eco-village bringing community and environment together to thrive)
- The idea of a fields of poppies.
Vertical & Horizontal
Once you have the main logo, you'll need vertical and horizontal layouts of it. If you're unfamiliar with this, vertical logos have the icon and business name stacked one on top of the other, and horizontal logos have the icon and business name next to each other. We'll need both!
Chromas
Now you've got those done, we need two more things. Firstly, an Icon (Only the graphic part of the logo) & lastly, we'll need versions of all your designs that work on both dark and light backgrounds. Your designs will be printed on merchandise and promotional products both black and white (and everything in-between). Contrast is a crucial part of design, so make sure your have versions of your designs that can stand out on any background.
If the graphic part of your design (logo excluding the business name) is intricate and/or colourful, it might be difficult to create contrasting versions, have a play around!
